Stump grinding in Glenpool, Oklahoma
Glenpool was an oil boomtown in 1905, and now it is a fast-growing commuter town south of Tulsa. Most stumps here are from newer subdivisions rather than old estates.
From oilfield to commuter town
The Glenn Pool oil discovery in 1905 made the area one of the busiest oil fields in the world, and the town was founded in 1906. The population stayed small for decades. By 2020 it had reached about 14,000, nearly 30 percent more than in 2010.
That growth means many Glenpool yards are fairly new, with builder-planted trees that are not very large. Their stumps usually grind quickly. The older lots near the original town are the exception, where bigger trees have had decades to grow.
- Measure your gate. Newer lots often have narrow side yards.
- Tell the crew if the stump is under a deck, fence or utility line.
- If you are removing a tree you planted a few years ago, mention it, since the root system will be small.
Questions
Are newer-lot stumps cheaper to grind?
Often, because the stumps are smaller. Many crews have a minimum charge, so having two or three stumps ground in one visit gets more for the same trip.
Do Glenpool crews also cover Jenks and Bixby?
Many do. We match you with a crew that works your side of the metro.
